About Heather

Drama has consistently played a significant role in my life. At the age of eight I started taking private examinations with the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as the New Era Academy. I have achieved top medal status, gaining some of the highest marks in the country, with distinctions at almost every level.

After completing A-levels in Classics and Theatre Arts amongst others I undertook an intensive three years BA (Honours) degree in Drama and Theatre Arts at Middlesex University. This high profile course provided me with a unique overview of all aspects of performance including acting, directing, storytelling, set and costume design, and the history of the theatre. During this time I was awarded a prestigious place to train for one semester at the University of South Florida, America, where I specialised in voice and script analysis.

After graduating I chose to work for the BBC, contributing to the spoken-word output at both local and network levels. This role allowed me to work on specific drama projects such as helping students of the East 15 drama school broadcast three radio plays.

In 2006 I decided to train as a secondary school Drama Teacher and attended Goldsmiths University in order to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I am currently teaching Drama and LAMDA at Rookwood School in Hampshire.

In 2010 I decided to set up Thespis Performing Arts Company. The aim behind this was to encourage the young and old to realise their potential in the world of performing Arts.

I am an active member of The Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama and the LAMDA teachers association.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, it will be my pleasure to help in any way I can.
